PlayScore will observe normal repeats written into your music, but sometimes it is useful to repeat other sections.  You might want to do this to help you practice a passage on your instrument by playing it over many times, with PlayScore playing the accompaniment. PlayScore loops make this common practicing technique easy.

Short loops

To set up a loop covering any of the music you can see on the screen:

1) tap and hold on the opening measure until green brackets appear

2) while still holding, drag to the closing measure

Extended loops (iOS only)

Extended loops let you repeat a whole verse, a song or even a full movement.  To set up a long loop you simply set up a short loop and then extend it:

1) tap on the opening measure and hold until the green brackets appear (a single measure loop will start)

2) scroll down to the closing measure and long-tap until you see the green bracket.

That’s it.  You can extend or contract a loop by long-tapping a measure outside or inside the loop, or by long-tapping and dragging.

Clearing a loop

To remove a loop just tap somewhere outside.

Metronome and count-in works with loops.  You can set up metronome/count-in beforehand, or while a loop is paused.
