MusicXML is the standard format for exporting music notation.  MusicXML is better than MIDI for most purposes.  If you have been used to using MIDI files in the past consider MusicXML.  Always use MusicXML to open scores in notation programs such as Dorico, MuseScore and Sibelius.  If supported use MusicXML in DAW software also.

To share a MusicXML file, open the document and from the Play screen, tap the export icon Export and choose Save as MusicXML.

To include text as well as music in the MusicXML turn on Lyrics, text and D.S./D.C in settings Cog. You need this option also for D.S./D.C., and for multi-measure rests also.

For practice tracks see Preparing practice scores for a choir or ensemble.
